About the Artist

Christine Godden is an artist, writer and business consultant. She was born in Sydney, Australia and has lived in the USA and Australia. Godden has taught art at secondary and tertiary levels, worked in both architectural and legal practices, and in the construction, development and visual arts industries.

Godden's artwork has been exhibited and published in Australia and the USA. She is represented in a number of public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Godden was for five years from 1978 the executive Director of the Australian Centre for Photography based in Sydney, and was curator of the CSR Photography Project. She has written on photography for journals such as Art and Australia and was for a time the photography critic for the Sydney Morning Herald.

Godden’s qualifications include Bachelor of Fine Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, California USA 1975; Master of Fine Arts, Visual Studies Workshop State University of New York USA 1980; Master of Business Administration, Australian Graduate School of Management University of NSW 1992.
